Changing Waters

At the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Freedom Boat Club's promise of any boat at any location was a hot commodity. But how do you ensure a record number of new members understand how to navigate the open waters when in-person orientation is no longer an option? You create animated explainer videos.

Freedom Boat Club

Freedom Boat Club (FBC) – the world’s largest members-only boat club – was founded in 1989 in Sarasota, Florida. Today, the Club's 300+ locations welcome hundreds of members to its docks each day to enjoy a day on the water while we take care of the rest including fueling, cleaning, maintenance, and more.

Mapping the Challenge

Freedom Boat Club was looking to solve challenges surrounding its in-person training program with an easily accessible e-learning platform.

They needed a partner to bring the nuances of boating to a digital format, and FBC thought we were the perfect partner to make it happen!

Since launching the e-learning platform, our explainers have helped:

  • Ensure members are safe and feel confident when they go boating!
  • Free up staff to focus on increased demand!
  • Provide free and unlimited training to FBC members!
  • Make scheduling conflicts a things of the past!

Final deliverables came in the form of six unique explainer videos, each closing with a call to action (CTA) to email FBC for further questions.
